On duty again

Yes, after coming back for about 3 months plus, my mum went back to Stanford to be "on duty" again. Here we are at the airport sending her off.See, after spending some time alone with my parents, Isaac is now okay with them holding his hand. Which is quite an achievement coz Isaac's quite particular about such things, and he would not hold hands with people he is not familiar with.

Isaac & ET @ 18 months

Isaac and E.T. again!!! :) Now at 18 months, Isaac is clearly taller than E.T.
E.T. had problem holding his neck straight, coz his head is so heavy! He used to be able to stand on his own without toppling over. But we now had to prop him up.
Subsequently, we haven't been very prompt in taking E.T pix for Isaac on every 6th of the month. I'm thinking we should have a new gauge. Hubbs perhaps? Since he's so tall! :) Hahaha... we shall see...

Blowing bubbles with Kakak

These are our neighbours, and they love to play with Isaac since he was an infant. We often sit at our door talking to them as they're very friendly and we like them a lot too.

They adore Isaac and would love to talk to him and play with him. Isaac calls them Kakak - malay for "sister". Here they are blowing bubbles for him to play with. He loves it! He would chase after the bubbles and burst them.

One of this kakak - the one on the left, Sunarti, has since delivered to a lovely baby boy named Hardy. We tease her that Isaac should call her "auntie" now, instead of "sister" hahaha... We're all eagerly awaiting the day when Isaac and Hardy can play together :)

Climbing Papa

As you can tell, Isaac's pretty active and likes physical play. Here he is engaged in one of his favourite activities - climbing Papa!
Hubbs would hold Isaac's hands and let him walk up the length of his leg - literally!
Isaac enjoys this a lot. Even till today at 28 months plus, he still enjoys doing this.

Isaac @ Eng Kong playground

Since my mum came back from USA in November 2008, we sent Isaac to Eng Kong for 2 days a week, for the whole day. Wanted Isaac to bond with my parents more, especially since now my mum has the capacity to look after Isaac since the girls are in Stanford.
Also, my in laws have been taking care of Isaac since I went back to work 12 weeks after he was born. So, think they needed a bit of a break also.
Besides, my mum was only back for a few months - she'd be going back to Stanford to help out my sis with the girls after Chinese New Year. (My sister's mother-in-law is there to help her while my mum is back in Singapore - take turns! haha!)
So, we took this opportunity to give Isaac some one-on-one attention from my mum during this period of time. Think it really matters. They were pretty close after Isaac spent some time with her alone by the end of this period.
Here are pix and vids of Isaac enjoying himself at the playground near my parents place :)

See how cute my two boys are! :)

We bought a bicycle... from Texas, USA!

Yes, did I mention in my many USA posts that we bought a bicycle in Texas, USA? Well actually, to be exact, hubbs did. We were in Austin, Texas, you see - the hometown of Lance Armstrong - the cyclist. So there were many good bike shops there, and the prices were cheaper there than compared to Singapore too. So naturally... guess what happened?! We bought a bike! hahahhaa... Orginally, we wanted to carry the bike back home ourselves, check it in as a piece of luggage (see the big brown box in the background?). However, thanks to my own boardgame purchases (I ordered a lot online and sent them to my sister's place), we had quite a lot of luggage to lug back already. Thus, thankfully, hubbs' friend Zhenguo agreed to bring it back for us when he came back to Singapore for Chinese New Year. So... hubbs was eagerly awaiting CNY... and it's not for the joy of giving ang pows...
So on the 2nd Day of CNY, after Isaac slept, we took out the pieces of the bicycle and set to work putting it together. Hehehe... I must claim credit that I was instrumental in helping hubbs put the bike together. He has the brawn... I have the... kekeke... fill in the blanks yourself. HAHHAHA...

See how proud he is of his bike :) It is very nice, I must say. Hubbs started being "into" marathons when I was pregnant with Isaac, and now, he is into triathlons as well. Yes, hence the bike. Keeps him fit, I suppose. And a healthy pastime to have - so long as he doesn't fall dead on me :(

I'd been bugging him to get a full body check up for the longest time... and finally, only like a month ago did he get it done. Well, good news is that his health seems to be in perfect condition. The bad news is that I now I have no reason not to let him participate in his many triathlons and whatnot. Sigh. One can't help getting worried seeing all those newspaper reports of how people just fall dead after exercising, right? So scary! But hubbs claims he knows how to not push his body too hard etc etc... well, I certainly hope so!!!

Game playing during CNY 2009

To occupy the time - we had to spend the whole day at our relative's place during Chinese New Year - we brought Isaac's games along, to keep him amused.

This is Hats Off - one of Isaac's first games, after Go Away Monster.
Well, according to the rules, each player takes their own coloured cones, and you're supposed to launch into the same coloured area in the target box. Then you score points for those cones that end up in your colour, but not for those that land outside your colour.
But of course, at Isaac's age, it is an accomplishment to just be able to launch cones from the launchpad. The game box puts it this game as "For Age 5+" but here is my Isaac, playing this game at 17 months.

Here! Enjoy a video of my Isaac launching the cones off - pardon my foot!

Below is another vid... this one of Isaac playing Go Away, Monster! It's been a joy watching him play. When we first played this game with him in Dec 2008, we had to prompt him on where to place the pieces, what to do etc. But by CNY 2009, he knew what to do. It was really a joy to see him grow and develop in that way.

Oh and of course, we brought our 'adult' games too. No, no, not 'x-rated' games - adult games as in games meant for older folks lah, more 'difficult' games than those Isaac can handle.

Here's hubbs' counsins and nephews and nieces enjoying Fearsome Floors. Basically the players have counters that represent their team, running away from a frankensteinish monster!!! hahahhaa...They enjoyed it so much, that they played the game quite a few times that day.27th January 2009

Chinese New Year 2009 - Day 2

I actually bought this chinese suit for Isaac and he wore it in 2008 CNY. hahaha... but it defnitely fits better now than at that time. Think Isaac would be able to fit into the CNY 2009 Day 1 suit in 2010 CNY just fine... :p
On this Day 2, I managed to get more smiley pix from Isaac - helps that hubbs' auntie's place is not as hot as it was at my parents' place.
But as usual, can't get Isaac to smile nicely in family pix.
Isaac with my in laws - who absolutely adore him. And my sis-in-law in our family picture below too. Think this picture looks much better than the 2008 family pic - I was so much fatter th

Chinese New Year 2009 - Day 1

This year, it was my parent's turn to host the Lee Family lunch, so here we are at Eng Kong on the 1st day of the CNY. My sister and family were in Stanford by then, so this year our CNY family pix only had 5 of us.Here's Chloe, my cousin Valerie's daughter, and Isaac :) Chloe is older than Isaac by about 2 months, if I recall correctly :p We tried to have Isaac wear the chinese threads which I thought looked quite cute on him. But then, he got very hot, and so we later took it off.
Nice pic of Chloe and Isaac :) hehehe... after many tries!!!

At the playground

Here's my Isaac at the playground. Prefer taking pix in the day time, with natural lighting... the pictures come out much nicer that way! :)
