Isaac on all fours

This is Isaac on all fours. He didn't really do the leopard crawl much and quickly graduated to being on all fours when he was 7 plus months.
As of right now in mid April - Isaac at 8 months plus, he is very quick at crawling, and he has learnt how to get into a sitting position on his own from a crawling position. He has also learnt to sit down slowly on his own without falling backwards - from a standing position that he has pulled himself up by supporting on furniture etc. Which is good - coz then we don't have to watch him so much!Isaac having fun with his cheh chehs Becca and Isabelle :)

Birthday parties: Kayenn's 1st birthday

Little Kayenn had his 1st birthday party on 15th March 2008! And it was Isaac's first time attending a birthday party! :)

This is the start of a new phase of social life for us, I suppose - attending birthday parties! :) A lot of our friends have and are having kids now, so it's pretty fun to meet up at such gatherings to chit chat and trade tips for dealing with our kids. (Sighz, imagine the kids meeting up at such gatherings, 10 years down the road, to trade tips on how to handle their parents *shudder*).

Big boy car seat!

Here's Isaac looking spiffy in his big boy car seat. It looks new, but actually it's Rebecca's old car seat - she and Isabelle are graduating to booster seats already. So my sis passed me Rebecca's car seat, while she kept Isabelle's car seat for Natalie. Just nice timing coz Isaac was outgrowing his infant car seat already.
I used to take quite a few pictures of Isaac yawning when he was very young. But realised that I hadn't taken any in recent months, so here is one shot! :) dunno why - but I like to see pictures of him mid-yawn. hahaha...

Hey! We've more wonderful babies in the world!

Congrats to Chan Peng & Xiaofeng for the birth of their second boy, brother to Hay! :) He arrived yesterday 8th April 2008, weighing 2.98kg and measuring 50cm tall :)

Congrats too, to my dear uni friend Baoxia & her hubby for the birth of her firstborn. Little Celeste saw the light of day on 3rd April 2008, weighing 3.4kg and measuring 50cm tall too!

HOORAY!!! give thanks for safe deliveries and healthy babies! :)

Weekend morning antics

This is our dear Isaac boy. Cheerful and bright as day the moment he wakes up. Doesn't matter what time in the morning he wakes up (can be as early as 6am!?!?). So what does he do when he wakes up? Let's see...
He'd scour his bed and play with whatever he finds on it - here he is playing with a long sleeved pyjama shirt of his that I'd left on his bed as backup during the night.
He'd play with his favourite toy - the LeapFrog Alphabet Zoo that his Godma gave him. He spins the drum of the toy, and there're sounds of the alphabet being read, and the sound the animal makes. When hubbs and I start to hear "Spin, spin a letter..." or "The animal has something to say... Z - Zebra, Zebra..." we know someone's awake...
When he gets bored with the alphabet zoo and everything he can find on his bed, Isaac VENTURE BEYOND... When he was younger, he couldn't climb over the bolster... but now, he can climb on it, and over it! Here he is trying to reach for whatever he sees...
And when he's bored with whatever he finds just outside his bed... he looks for... Mummy & Papa!!! Now Isaac can pull himself to a standing position like that. He'd stand like that to call me or hubbs.
Even when he wakes up at night, and sometimes I don't hear him, he would stand like that at the bed and wake me up.
Ah! Isaac has spotted his Papa sleeping at the far end! At this point in time, Isaac hasn't yet been able to climb onto our bed on his own. Thus after some struggling and whining from Isaac, hubbs reaches over to lend a hand.
Last weekend, Isaac managed to climb up onto the bed all by himself! Well, the first time he did that, he actually used me as a ladder of sorts and simply scrambled up mummy and onto the bed (causing much pain and distress to various parts of my body - he moved so fast that I barely had time to stop him - he was on the bed already!). And the second time it happened, we were like:"Huh? did he just climb onto the bed himself?" "Er... yeah, think so huh..."

Isaac's really growing so fast... Oh and he's grown two teeth already! Spotted them on his lower gums 2 weekends ago. Well, technically, I didn't SEE them first - I felt them - when he bit me!!! *ouch* Sighz. Well, I count myself lucky that he doesn't bite me as much as he used to. I guess all the scolding paid off. He used to constantly bite me when he doesn't want to drink anymore. So, I'd scold him:"Isaac! If you don't wanna drink, then you don't drink! Cannot bite Mummy! Stop!!! Stop!!! Stop biting Mummmmy!!! You continue doing this then Mummy don't feed you huh!?!?" See lah... so desperate , I had to resort to threats! Haha!

Cousins Danielle & Gabriel

This is Isaac playing with his cousins Gabriel & his sister Danielle. They're hubbs' cousin's kids. Hubbs too, has many cousins and he played with them since young too. Gabriel's parents actually got married just 4 months before we did. But as you can see, they efficiently popped out Gabriel (now about 2 years old) and Danielle (about 1 year old) in quick succession.
Hehehhe... No, Gabriel's not pinching Isaac nor slapping, nor anything violent like that. In fact, Gabriel was trying to make Isaac look at the camera. He was like going:"Isaac, look at the camera." *gently pushing Isaac's face* "Isaac, quick, look at the camera!" *pushing Isaac's face with more force now, coz Isaac is refusing to turn and look at the camera* "Isaac! Look at your mummy and the camera!!!" *By now, Gabriel starts to pull Isaac's ear - out of desperation!" hahahhahaa...

High chairs, baby chairs rocking chair!

Since about a month ago (sighz... am I ever gonna catch up with posting?!?! "Not when you've so much to say" says hubbs! ;p) Anywayz, as I was saying, since about a month ago, Isaac could sit in restaurant high chairs! He couldn't sit up right on his own yet balancing on his own, but in a chair meant for babies, he was alright, coz it would kinda give him the support he needs. The two pictures here show him in a baby chair - it was his first time! Quite an interesting seat, I thought - coz it's like attached to the table. both pictures above taken on 9th March 2008

Here's Isaac in a little rocking chair. Cute chair huh! Then again, actually it doesn't look like a cute little rocking chair - it looks like a full sized rocking chair - making Isaac look huge!!! hahaha... Check out the vid below, Isaac was like rocking himself in the chair, but he knew that he couldn't rock too hard coz he'd fall off! I was quite amused/surprised that he kinda instinctively knew how to hang on when he was rocking himself so that he wouldn't fall off.

More pictures of the kids coming up! :) I thought they were all nice, so I posted them all!!! kekeke... Oh in case you're wondering where Isabelle is... These pictures were taken one evening when we went back to my mum's place for dinner, and my sister and bro-in-law had gone out. Becca was napping, but Isabelle was awake when they went out so she tagged along.

Here's our sweet Becca. She's been a good cheh cheh, she'd try to protect the younger ones and try to get them toys coz Isabelle's very jealous of the two younger ones and would sometimes beat them, or snatch away whatever toys they're holding. The Becca would go:"Mei mei! You should let Isaac play with your toys! Must share!" hahaha... The way she talks is quite adult sometimes - we all hear ourselves in the way she talks! Isaac & Chan Hay

Isaac & friends: Chan Hay

This is Isaac with his friend kor kor Chan Hay. Hay is approximately one and a half years older than Isaac.
Hay's parents are hubbs' friends from Raleigh, and we four are all in HappyFriendClub too :) Hay's parents are the first couple from HFC who got married, and we're the second couple who did! (Speaking of which, another HFC couple is pregnant too, and yet another HFC couple is getting married this year! Talk about a good hit rate! kekeke!!!)

Below are pictures taken in late January 2008, the first time that Isaac got to meet Hay, after Hay and his family came back from his papa's posting to Denmark. We missed them very much, coz Hay's papa was hubbs' similar minded ah pek friend, drink beer (at home) together, and listen to old music together, and go for concerts together.

But thanks to blogging, we could sorta keep in touch and updated with each other through our blogs. Go see more adventures of Hay at Hay's blog!

Here're the two kids interacting with one another. I wouldn't say 'playing' coz think they haven't got to that stage yet. As with cousins, we're happy to have many friends having kids of the same age and play together and growing up together. We think kids are so lucky nowadays - they've so many friends even before they were born!
Hahaha the picture above looks as though Hay is trying to elbow Isaac (who looks very happy!) hahaha... but no, Hay doesn't belong to the violent kor kor strain (at least not yet). Isabelle's the violent one. hahahaha...
Oh yah, Hay's expecting a brother sometime this month :) We're eagerly anticipating the birth of his brother. We wonder if he'd pop out as quickly as Hay did 2 years ago.
