My twins are growing up!
Pix as of 11th July 2010 - but seriously, now at 10 months plus Asher and Shawna still look roughly like that - only... perhaps a little larger :) My Asher & Shawna, they're both smiley babies they are. We're very blessed that all our babies are smiley babies!
They're growing well too. Did I tell you that Shawna could wave goodbye? Well now, Asher can too! :) And they both can "High five!" as well! Asher is also currently very good at calling me. He would go "Mama, Mama, Mama!" in a very pleading tone of voice coz he wants me to carry him! Haha yeah, Lina, my helper, has taken to calling Asher "Manja" - coz Asher's always very manja and wants to be carried all the time :)
Oh and I did I tell you that Shawna is learnt to stand on her own? She's fantastic - she can now stand on her own, without holding on to anything for support! Apparently, she finds it amusing as well coz she is always showing us by standing up on her own. And from last week, she could even take 1 to 2 steps on her own! At 10 and a half months - Shawna has taken her first steps!!! cool huh!? :)
Asher has 4 teeth out - 2 above and 2 below. And Shawna has 5 teeth out - 2 above and 3 below. So, we know that another of Asher's bottom tooth is probably emerging soon. Size wise, Asher is definitely taller than Shawna, and he still looks bigger than Shawna. He is, but at last weigh-in, he was like 300 grammes heavier only, not like 1 kg heavier as he was before. People tend to point to Asher and say "This one looks bigger - he must be older!" Well, he IS older (he was born 1 minute before Shawna), but he was actually smaller (lighter and shorter) than Shawna at birth! Well just slightly - lighter by like 45 grammes and shorter by 1 cm or so. Not much difference, but still! you can't assume that size = age you know... ;p
I love these pix! It's so hard to get good pix coz we always have our arms full and it's hard to find an opportune time to take pix. Glad we have some nice ones here though. But one thing I noticed is that most of my pix is taken in the bedroom - coz this is one place I feel safe to leave the kids on the bed while I wield my camera. This, versus Isaac's time when he had pix taken of him EVERYWHERE - like literally here, there, everywhere, doing this, that, anything! We just don't have the spare capacity now. Well hopefully when the twins can walk, then I would have spare arms to take pix :)
The kids love to fall all over each other, with Isaac too. The three of them would love to lie side by side, climbing over each other. We would allow them to, just sitting beside them and watching out to make sure the babies don't pull Isaac's hair, or poke his eyes or bite him (sometimes haha). And similarly, we have to make sure Isaac doesn't crush them with his body weight, or kick them or push them.
When Isaac came into our lives, he brought us lots of joy and laughter. And now with the twins, they brought us even more joy and laughter into our lives! We had it good, and now we have it even better and twice, three times over!!! Sigh!!! Life is good!!! :)

Where have all my friends gone, Mummy?
Pictures as of 24th Jjune 2010 - gosh! That's like more than 4 months ago! Got major catch-up to do again... Look at Alycia and Macy below :) So sweet they two!!!Time goes by so fast. We feel like Isaac's been at his school forever - but he actually only started attending it in mid March 2010 - just 8 months ago. During this time, he's had new friends join his class, and friends leaving...
Isaac's a bit too young to "feel" it, but I do. Maybe it's just sentimental me.
First it was Teacher Foong Ling. She left a couple months back, to seek greener pastures. I'd come to be friends with Teacher Foong Ling, Teacher Lina, Lao Shi, and a lot of other teachers in Isaac's school. It was like losing a friend, somewhat.
It didn't help that she left in the middle of a school term. I was just thinking to myself that it's kinda different when you complete the school year and have to change teachers coz you're now in a different level, as opposed to having your teacher changing in the middle of the school term. Kinda unsettling.
Isaac took Teacher Foong Ling's leaving better than I thought he would. He only kicked up a fuss once, asking for her. But he always always still mentions her as one of his favourite teachers, when asked. (Oh you can see Teacher Foong Ling in the corner of the two pix above! :p)
He's now closer to Teacher Lina more than ever. And I really wonder how he's going to take it when he 'graduates' from N1 class this year, to be in N2 class next year - and he has to have a new teacher, as Teacher Lina would teach the new N1 class...
But like I said earlier, I think he may still be okay since he'd get to see Teacher Lina in school still... but I think he may throw tantrums and demand to be with Teacher Lina at the beginning of the new school year. Then again, maybe he'd be okay since he'd have all his friends with him... OH! Which reminds me, I have to ask the teachers whether they reshuffle the kids amongst classes...
Then, Arash left.
Arash is this cute Iranian boy, who likes Cars, very active, and enjoys playing with Isaac. Isaac would want to bring his Cars stuff to school or wear his Lightning McQueen t-shirt to school so that he can show it to Arash. Next to Alycia, Teacher Foong Ling tells me that Arash is probably his "next best friend".
Arash's family was moving to the UK. Think his Dad was going there to work, or something like that. And so they went. Isaac still talks about Arash as though he was still coming to school. Though recently, he has been telling me that he and his friends and Teacher Lina are going to visit Arash in the UK.
When Isaac tells me about his upcoming UK trip, I ask Isaac if he misses Arash, and he'd nod and say "Yes." Then he'd look out of the window. I feel sad for Isaac. I miss Arash too.
I don't have Arash's picture in this post, but I know I have his pix in my computer. Must have been taken at a later time. You'd see it :)
Now, this picture below, is Nadira. Which reminds me - I haven't seen her for a long time! I must remember to ask the teachers if she is still in school. She wasn't in Isaac's class, but the other N1 class, I believe. She was sweet and smiley and I have some great pictures of her here.
Cheng How and Macy love to take pictures! Whenever I take pictures of the kids, Cheng How would rush to be in front of the camera. Very sweet and vibrant boy :) Macy too, would enjoy posing for my camera :)
Coming back to my topic... guess what I heard a few weeks back? Xinrui's gonna leave too!?! Her family shifted from West Coast to Jurong, and so they're gonna switch Xinrui and her sister Xinyi to the Learning Vision @ Icon in International Biz Park!
:( *groan* so sadz!!! Another friend gone! Just yesterday, I saw Xinrui's mother in school. We speak occasionally in school when we see each other. I asked her when their "last day" was, and she said it was end of this month, 24th or 26th November, something like that.
I don't recall frowning or anything, but I must have looked kinda sad coz she immediately said she'd leave her namecard in Isaac's bag so that we can keep in touch when they change centre. I smiled and said "Yes, of course!" But I know it'd be tough. Besides, it's Isaac I feel sad for. He wouldn't be able to play with Xinrui everyday anymore.
Maybe it's just sentimental 'ol me. Tearing as I write this post (I can't believe it. SIGH). But such is life, I suppose. People come and go in our lives. There's this quote that goes something like "Some people are in your life for a season, some are in your life for a reason." I can't remember the exact wordings already. But yeah, I believe everyone is in my life for a reason, even if only for a season.
I'm just not looking forward to Isaac asking me "Where have all my friends gone, Mummy?"

The kidzes as of 26th June 2010
My Asher & Shawna! They're growing up fast and I can't blog fast enough! In a blink of an eye, they're now 10 months old (5 months old in these pix below). They still look about the same though, but bigger.
They're both cruising already - walking by holding on to furniture. Shawna even sometimes stands without support. And both of them are very adept and crawling on all fours, sitting up by themselves, and climbing onto furniture.
Look at the two of them admiring Isaac's sticker wall. They've been very amused with it and they like to look at it.
They have a rather different character.
Asher, we find is more 'manja'. He wants and likes to be carried all the time. If he is doing something he shouldn't be doing - like pulling on cables, or climbing too high etc - we would just call out his name, and make say "hmmm" in a warning tone, and he would stop in his tracks, turn around, look at us, and burst into tears after 5 seconds.
This technique wouldn't work with Shawna though. She would continue about her mischief, ignoring us calling her, not heeding our warning tone noises. She WOULD turn around and grin at us cheekily, though! sigh!!!
And this is our Isaac :) He wants to follow me and does everything I do. I take photos of the babies, and so he wants to as well :) And so, coz I kiss him and the babies all the time, so does he! hehehe...

Chinese song - 2 tigers - video
Oh you know how it is with hubbs and I... sometimes it's almost a competition to see how much we can teach Isaac... I'd teach him the Englishy stuff, hubbs the Chinesey stuff... So if I teach him how to sing an English song, hubbs'd rush to teach him a Chinese song... :) We have fun!!!
Here's Isaac singing the chinese song "2 tigers!" (I dunno if that's the actual name of the song. Whatever!!! :p)

Play gym!
Pictures as of 24th June 2010. We finally went to Isaac's school one day, just to see how his play gym class is like. Actually, I wanted to know if we should continue sending him for it - coz, what if it's crap, right? Like, hubbs is already very hands-on with Isaac in exposing him to rough play and sports and stuff, so, do we really need this?
So we went to take a look. And it was the first time I got to break out my new camera as well. kekeke... yes, I succumbed to temptation and got the DSLR camera!!! Can't wait to show you guys my pix taken with this camera - some of them are really nice! But then again, maybe I'm just trying to justify my purchase! :p
Isaac going through his play gym activities... Actually, we didn't think very much of the play gym session we saw. But then again, Isaac seems to enjoy it, and he now always looks forward to play gym sessions... so.... ah well, what the heck, we let him continue having the sessions...
See my handsome Isaac :) hehehe... okay, I admit, I'm biased!!!
